Areas of Expertise: Lake Highlands: I have lived in many of Dallas' great neighborhoods, and for the last four years I have called Lake Highlands home. I own a great 70s modern house in the area's north end, the Country Forest subdivision. In fact you can usually find me in the mornings walking my dogs Maverick and Nala on the Richland College Campus. My neighborhood, and all the wonderful, well established Lake Highlands neighborhoods come together to form a real sense of community, complete with unique architecture, manicured lawns and award winning Richardson I.S.D. schools.
Modern and Contemporary Homes: I have a passion for all things modern. From the Art-Deco era, to Mid-Century, 70s and 80s modern... to the fantastic new construction we see today, I love it all. I own a modern home, I've sold modern homes and as a general contractor and design consultant, I have built and remodeled modern homes. I make it a point to keep abreast of the modern market in Dallas, so if modern is your style, you want me as your Realtor.
Dallas' In-town Neighborhoods: At David Griffin and Company we pride ourselves on our successful marketing of neighborhoods close to downtown Dallas, such as Oak Cliff, Oak Lawn, Uptown, Victory Park, East Dallas, Lakewood and the Park Cities. We connect with people who, like us, enjoying living the urban lifestyle. Plus with all the exciting additions to the Arts District, Victory Park and the Trinity River Project, there is no better time than now to live in the heart of Big D.
White Bluff Resort: Situated just 90 minutes from downtown Dallas, White Bluff Resort on Lake Whitney has been a popular destination for DFW retirees and weekenders for nearly 20 years. My family and I have built over 100 of the resort's custom homes. Residents are drawn to the lake's tall rock cliffs, soaring views and abundant wildlife. It truly is like a taste of the Texas Hill Country, just a short drive from the Metroplex.
Education and Work Experience: A lifelong North Texan, I went K-12 in Stephenville, southwest of Fort Worth. However, I did spend 4 years in Austin and earned two Bachelor degrees (Journalism and Sociology) from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em Horns!). After a brief stint as a TV news anchor for a CBS affiliate, I wrote news scripts for News 8 Daybreak in Dallas. In 1997, I joined my parents' custom home business. From inside and outside color schemes, to custom cabinetry, to decorative tiles, I helped clients make every design related selection for their custom homes, and then managed the installation. To complement my design consulting business, I obtained my real estate license in 1998. For over a decade now, I have worked with buyers and sellers in all of North Texas, particularly all the great central Dallas neighborhoods. Clients often find my knowledge of home construction and design quite helpful while making important marketing and purchasing decisions.
For Fun: In my off time, you can find me spending time with friends, playing with my Staffordshire bull terrier, Maverick and Doberman mix Nala, or watching Texas Longhorns sports. An avid tennis player, I plan many of my vacations around watching professional tennis tournaments around the country, including a yearly trip to the U.S. Open in New York. I am a member of the USTA, Preservation Dallas and Friends of the Katy Trail.
