The standards were set high for the new sales manager of David Griffin & Company, Realtors, and Micky Carr exceeded expectations in all areas.
“We wanted a leader in our local marketplace, and ideally, we wanted to find that person within our ranks,” said David Griffin, president of David Griffin & Company, a division of Virginia Cook, Realtors. “Our new sales manager had to have respect in our industry and the proven ability to help agents develop their business.”
“It was a tall order to fill, but Micky Carr was clearly the perfect candidate,” said Virginia Cook, CEO of Virginia Cook, Realtors. “We are thrilled to welcome him to our leadership team.”
A top performing agent with David Griffin & Company since 2008, Carr was named vice president in 2010. He is Co-chair of the Multiple Listing Service area encompassing the Uptown/Downtown market and a graduate of the MetroTex Association of Realtors Leadership Academy.
“Micky’s knowledge of residential sales is extremely important,” said Sheila Rice, executive vice president of Virginia Cook, Realtors. “His experience as a top producer is respected, and his guidance is welcomed by professionals who are equally passionate about succeeding in our industry.”
A lifelong North Texan, Carr, 39, earned two bachelor degrees at the University of Texas at Austin. After a working as a television news anchor for a CBS affiliate in West Texas and writing scripts for News 8 Daybreak in Dallas, Carr joined his parents' custom home business where he managed the design and construction of more than 120 custom homes. He earned his real estate license in 1998 and has worked with buyers and sellers in all of North Texas, with a focus on Dallas’ central neighborhoods.
Recognizing that a manager's role has to be both reactive and proactive, Carr is committed to helping agents reach their potential. “Our most valuable asset lies in the talent of our agents,” said Carr. “When we give our agents the tools they need, we achieve our company’s ultimate goal of providing unmatched customer service to buyers and sellers in North Texas.”
Carr is delighted to be leading in an environment where professional values mirror his own. “David Griffin & Company and Virginia Cook, Realtors are locally owned and fiercely independent,” Carr said. “We celebrate individualism in our agents and believe in tailor-made service for our clients.”
Carr takes on his new role during an exciting time for two entities that are grounded by four decades of success in North Texas. “Dallas has captured the attention of the world as future-focused city. Therefore, we strive to be the model real estate company of both the present, and the future.”
