David Griffin & Company Realtors is pleased to announce that 4143 Buena Vista, the Ron Wommack designed condominium development of five distinctive homes, has been chosen to be on this year’s American Institute of Architects Dallas Tour of Homes. Two of the residences at 4143 Buena Vista (which are also for sale) will be open today from 10 am – 5 pm.
Tickets for the tour (which includes not only 4143 Buena Vista, but other architecturally outstanding homes throughout the city) are available at the door or on line at www.hometourdallas.com. 4143 Buena Vista is the only multi-family project chosen this year for the AIA Home tour which is a fundraiser for the Dallas Center for Architecture.
“From its inception 4143 Buena Vista was conceived of as an important addition to the Dallas residential landscape,” says listing broker David Griffin. “M. G. Development sought one of Dallas’ most respected architects- Ron Wommack- to design five residences in an outstanding Uptown site running along the Katy Trail.”
“The goal of the developer and architect reached its culmination,” according to co-listing agent Scott Deakins, “on September 23, 2009 when 4143 Buena Vista was one of only seven (out of 138 entries) and one of only two residential submittals to receive an award from the Dallas Chapter of the AIA.”
“The winning projects were selected by a jury of three architects,” Deakins continues. “They were Adrian Smith of SOM Chicago, Bryan Young of Allied Works- Portland, and Angela Brooks of Pugh+Scarpa Architects, Los Angeles.”
Architect Ron Wommack comments about his work, “my earlier urban homes were more about the spirit of the street; now my designs seek to capture the spirit of the trees.” Wommack saw the Katy Trail site as an excellent opportunity, “to create living spaces that would make their inhabitants feel more alive. I want the residents to enmesh themselves in the world of the woods.”
Of the two residences that are open today (as well as Saturday, November 7 from 10-5)- one is a 3 bedroom/2.5 bath home with spectacular views on three levels of the Katy Trail. It is priced $995,000. The other residence is a free standing 3 bedroom/3.5 bath home with rooftop views of the Dallas skyline. It is priced at $742,500.
